🔧 Steps to Fix Your Lexus Bumper:
- Place a temporary object in the gap from the bumper, this will push it out and make working in the area easier.
- Look at good clips and tabs so you have a reference point of what the broken ones should look like.
- Inspect broken tabs and clips.
- Cut metal mesh with tin snips, make the pieces the same size and shape as the completed repair.
- Plan metal mesh on back or front of broken clip and plug in plastic welding iron (heating element).
- After 5-10 minutes of heating, push the copper colored tip against the metal mesh so that the plastic next to it melts and flows through the gaps in the mesh.
- Take a plastic stick and place it near the broken part of the tab and melt the stick to fill in the missing part of the tab. It can be too thick or wide, this can be sanded later.
- After cooling, sand the repair so the clip or tab is the same thickness, shape and size as a good clip.
- Attach clip/tab into the bumper.
- Sit back and admire your work, you are done!
